In Finland, about 70 years ago, they started a redesign of what a prison would look like by constructing the most modern human-systematic prisons in the world. In an open prison like Lauka, many inmates have been enrolled voluntary for a post-prison career in technology-free online courses like “Elements of AI,” VR equipment, and computer basics, which are maintained by the world-known university of Helnski. This has so far helped many attain degrees and given them more chances to look for work as they continue their sentence.
Through their smart prison concept, the country has various partners, such as the Finnish Foundation, which is also assisting in providing a virtual reality model and providing video online consultations with the assistance of a psychologist.
