How is it brought about? When is it brought about, and most important of all, what is the solution to it? So we thus raise the question: how can we manage it? Stress, in simple terms, is a natural response that our bodies and minds experience when we face challenges demands or even threats Clearly, it is a psychological reaction to perceived pressure to change our environment. When stressed, the body tends to release hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline, which increase heart rate, elevate blood pressure, and boost the body’s energy levels to prepare for action. Stress management, on the other hand, is the set of techniques, strategies, and practices that individuals employ to cope with and reduce the great impact of stress in their lives. These strategies and techniques may include adopting healthy behavior’s, changing perceptions, and developing ways to effectively deal with stressors. Among the most common ways and the easiest of all that fall in this category is doing regular exercises, Physical activities releases endorphins, which are natural mood lifter Some of the activities someone may engage in as part of exercise are swimming, jogging, or taking nature walks so as to alleviate stress and improve their overall well-being. Another way is by employing relaxation techniques. These are the activities that employ relaxation, such as listening to soothing music, reading, or engaging in your hobbies. Another way one may manage stress is by engaging in activities that one feels enjoyable and participating in them. These activities distract you from your stressors and help boost your mood, whether its playing music, traveling, or hiking. One may also seek medical attention, as it is among the most recommended and advisable. Sometimes stress may become overwhelming and chronic. This may require urgent assistance from either a therapist or a counsellor who can provide guidance and support to manage the stress effectively. Time management is the other significant move to take in terms of managing stress. This is because one is able to organize and set priorities, thus preventing him or her from feeling overwhelmed. Also, one may consider taking short breaks after a long hour at work. Lastly, one may focus on being mindful and taking meditations now and then; this practices involve forgetting the past and focusing on the present, which may significantly help in reducing stress Also, mindful meditation, deep breathing exercises, and progressive muscle relaxation are some of the techniques that can calm and relax the body. Those are just a few ways to manage stress.
