It is important to know that life is not just a combination of seasons, it is seasons. Earth’s operating systems are set; the sun rises in the morning and sets in the evening then the moon comes up at night. It’s almost like both the sun and the moon are in some sort of relay.
When you observe the farming process, the land has to first be tilled in readiness for planting. Then the soil might be enhanced with manure. Afterwards the farmer will put the seeds into the ground. After some time, the seed will start to appear above the ground. As it grows the farmer has to ensure that the environment in which the crop or plant is growing in is conducive for its growth. Weeds have to be removed to ensure a good harvest and then after sometime, it is harvesting time. The farmer may have to engage extra help to assist in harvesting.
Similar to small beginnings, the moment the seed was put in the ground it started germinating. However, if the farmer could have given up after a few days because he wasn’t seeing the plants above the ground and decided to re–till the land, he wouldn’t have gotten to see the plants grow and even harvest them. Yet sometimes that is what we do, we start something and then give up too quickly even before we see anything.
When starting something, think about it in terms of the farming process. Day one of starting is like putting a seed in the ground. The seed doesn’t start germinating at the end it starts immediately it is put in the ground. It notices the environment that it has been placed in, an environment which is conducive for growth. Therefore, it starts growing.
One psychologist even recommends planting a tree so that as it grows you are also growing. Observing the planting process from seed form all the way to harvest time will help to appreciate small beginnings. It helps to know that you are working towards something and even if it doesn’t look all polished up doesn’t mean it won’t grow. It will definitely grow especially if you don’t give up and keep working now with the end in mind. Keep the end goal in mind, the vision. It will help you to work now and to work well.
Remember that not every idea is the same, some take longer than others to mature. For instance, the cabbage may take about three months to mature, and tomatoes an even shorter time, yet a fruit could take much longer. Just like dreams and ideas, it all depends on the nature of the dream and the idea yet still we do not despise small beginnings. Good and sweet things the kind of sweetness that lasts a long time that has longevity is built gradually because it is in the process that even character is built. So, appreciate the process.
