We take for granted this life we have; we spend every living moment trying to achieve something. Trying to be someone worthy of respect,we put ourselves in really uncomfortable positions, trying to be better. When does it stop? When do we know that we have pushed enough, achieved enough, or even gotten enough? What does anyone know about self actualization? The place of contentment or happiness? I woke up this morning thinking about how much my goals shift. For example, if you have been wanting that job for so long, what happened after you got it? Did you stop for a minute to appreciate it, or did you wake up the next day checking on ways to get a promotion? That child you have been trying to conceive for a while—what happened after you were pregnant? Did you enjoy your pregnancy, or did you spend every living moment worrying and getting ready for the baby? That business you poured your soul and the whole of your savings into? Are you grateful for it, or is it that you wake up each morning complaining about how hard it is to be in business? You forgot that all you asked for was strength to start, and you promised it would be easier once you did. Why are you speaking negativity into it? When does the urge to keep going stop? When do you sit and say, “Well, today I am grateful for what I have, where I am, and what I can be?” Before you say you will enjoy it when you achieve more, please remember that what you have is also an achievement, and the fact that you are still here is also a reason to be happy. When is it enough?
