One of these fine days, I’m going to get in a matatu and head to your side of the country. I am going to sit outside your office and wait for a lunch break or five minutes after lunch. I am going to watch you from a distance. I might even hear the sound of your voice. I will look at you while you do what you do best, work, and in that moment I will remember why I miss you so much.
I may not even get to hug you—that warm embrace in which I fit in your arms. I may not get to hear your heart beat against mine or the warmth of your skin touching my own.The way your hands hold and I feel so safe, I can close my eyes. It may not get to that, but I will have seen you.
I will have felt your presence one more time. I will have seen your handsome face. I might even be lucky to see you smile. The way that brightens my soul makes me wonder. Does he know how much that makes him more and more handsome, like sunshine glowing directly into the depths of my soul?
I may not get to kiss you and feel my desires awaken—the need to pull you close to me, followed by the desire to let go. To let you have your way with me. Like a queen, let’s let the king lead the way, so I let you take me to the land of passion. Dripping with honor, passion, desire, desire and burning sensations. For when I let go,I know you, my King, can handle me.
I may not get to do all of that, but then I will have seen you. I will have been reminded how much you mean to me. It may not stop my heart from aching for you, but it will give my brain the satisfaction that one day we can go from looking at you from a distance to actually being with you. I miss you so much.🩵
