We speak different languages, communicate in really unique ways, and express our needs in differently.More often than not, we misunderstand each other because we expect people to communicate the way that we do.
For example, when I write,it’s the way that I express the things that I can’t say. I am also an extrovert, so I’ll tell you in one way or another what’s happening. I have come to realize most people will take offense because they want me to sugarcoat or go easy on them. Before I learned to listen to people according to their language, I also got upset because I wasn’t getting the same energy I was giving.
We learn every day, become better by learning new ways, and grow by letting go of the things that don’t really make us better.
Languages of communication are an essential part of our everyday lives. So listen more. Before you misunderstand, take a beat to interpret. When you aren’t sure what it means, ask. It’s better to get an accurate description before responding than to be triggered into anger for no reason at all.
If only we were a little bit more patient with each other and didn’t take everything at face value. We would be more peaceful, and the world would really be a better place.
