Mental Health

I attended a mental wellness campaign. I sat among people who have dedicated their lives to helping others navigate the scars of life. I was in the presence of champions who have dared to break barriers. The energy in that space was giving it calmness, and even when it was buzzing with activities, there was so much calm. I have so much passion for mental health, and I spend most of my time talking about it. In the recent past, I have learned that the journey of life has been unfair to most people. We are built differently, and therefore, most people deal differently. Some have broken over things that others have healed from very quickly. Take grievances, for example; members of the same family will deal differently. One will be okay after a while, and another will never really be okay.
This kind of reality has changed many lives. So we talk about it, and we let you know it’s okay to break once in a while. It is okay to cry, to scream, and to deal the best way we know how. Your mental health is your own; only you can understand how you feel or how much a specific thing means to you. Even as we champion bringing awareness to people,I hope each one of us knows that healing is a personal choice. Once you know this, you can find help. Your strength is defined by your ability to get help.
