Feelings, Facts, Reality and Truth in Decision Making.

Feelings, Facts, Reality and Truth in Decision Making.

Feelings, and or emotions are good. They are our internal sensors. They give us information about what’s going on within us. Despite the fact that feelings provide us with information, what we fed maybe true to us however, it may not be the truth. Truth doesn’t just exist in the physical realm; where we live, move and function physically, truth is also in the unseen or spiritual realm.

Truth is not limited to a body, a people, a society, a country, the earth etc. Truth exists beyond these. That is why truth never ceases to exists even when people die and others are born. For example, so long as the earth still exists there will always be seasons. This is truth. Facts are based on statistical data which is based on varied human experiences. Facts are research based however; facts may not always be true. A statement like in the past decade, Kenyan women are becoming single mothers because fathers are missing in the homes. The statement has some truth in it, yes there are Kenyan women who are single mothers due to neglect by their child or children’s father but not all Kenyan women are single mothers or single mothers due to neglect and some Kenyan women do not have children therefore the statement cannot be true. It is factual that there are Kenyan women who are single mothers but not all Kenyan women are single mothers. Also, it is factual that there are fathers who are missing in homes but it is not true t say that all fathers are missing in their homes. Another example of a factual statement is youths are unemployed in Kenya. There is statistics to prove that there are youth who are unemployed. However, there are youth who are employed. Therefore, it is a factual statement but not a true statement. Truth exists beyond the physical realm, where we live. Reality has to do with what we see now or what we’ve seen before. Reality has to do with tangible things. Reality could also exist beyond the physical realm. It is the reality or rather current situation or how it has always been but reality is often subject to change. For example, it was reality for a long time that it rained in Kenya during certain months and some months it was dryer but now with change in climate that reality has changed. In decision making, it is important to anchor our decisions on truth and not on feelings coz those fluctuate, or on reality because that could change or solely on facts because facts could change too.
