Apparently, it is very wrong for you to go to an Airbnb with another adult because they might kill you. Imagine we can’t even use the appropriate word because. Never mind that you are both adults of age, but no, it’s your responsibility to make sure the other person isn’t going to end you. No one will ask them why they did that, why they have done it before, or even if they are going to continue doing it no.But count on everyone to ask you why you are greedy and chasing money, as if what they are doing isn’t looking for the said money. You walk in the dark and get attacked. Nobody will ask the other person why they want easy money; they will ask you why you were out in the dark alone.
They even took it a notch higher, asking why y’all are on the internet looking for people as if the other person wasn’t there in the first place. It’s 2024, but no, let’s blame the victims because we can’t hold the wrongdoers to account.
It is the week of school fees, and watch them as they ask you why you picked an irresponsible person to have kids with. No, they will not ask them why they are being like that, because, you know, they will even say that you knew that you should have planned ways to cater for your offspring. They will not remember that it took two to tango.
Deadbeat mothers haven’t been spared either; they will be asked how they sleep at night without their kids. For those mothers who abuse their kids,we will not ask them why. We will say they are stressed because the other parent isn’t helping. No, we will not hold the wrongdoers accountable. We will drag the victims through the mud because you know they should know better.
As we say happy New Year every two minutes, can we at least renew our ways? Can we at least ask the tough questions? Like, why is it okay to unlive someone? Like, why is a whole adult out here luring women with money just to rob them with violence?
Asking why we are shaming stepdads for stepping up. Creating memes about them carrying the responsibilities while baby daddys are parting. Why are we so shallow that we call every good deed simping? Why are we so heartless that we think a girl’s life deserves to end like that? Fear men, fear women is the new trend. Maybe we should fear ourselves because we are turning into wild animals.
