It is so important to acknowledge where you are because acknowledging where you are is being self-aware. And being self-aware is such a necessary skill in life because it helps you determine the path you need to take or to reinforce the path you are in.
For example, if you enjoy practicing law, how do you reinforce this, you look for a niche in law that interests you and you become a master at it. In this way you will be reinforcing what you enjoy. Or if you love practicing medicine, then you venture into a more specialized field, you will be reinforcing what you enjoy doing. If you are in a good place and the work you are doing is fulfilling, it is important to acknowledge it and reinforce it. However, if you are not in a good place workwise it is equally important to acknowledge this in order to create a plan that will enable you to pivot gradually and seamlessly.
Self-awareness will help you determine the next course of action to take no matter where you are.
