LG region CEO visits Nairobi to engage regional partners

NAIROBI, KENYA- MARCH, 26, 2025—LG Electronics (LG) newly-appointed Middle East and Africa (MEA) region CEO, Phil Won Jung, visited Nairobi, Kenya, as part of his strategic mission to understand the East African market and strengthen partnerships in the region.

During his visit, Mr Jung engaged with key stakeholders, business partners and distributors including Carrefour Hub, Opalnet and Hotpoint HQ to gain insights into the market’s unique opportunities and challenges. The visit aims at strengthening partnerships, enhancing customer experiences and driving sustainable growth in East Africa.

“East Africa is a dynamic and growing market with immense potential. This visit is an opportunity to engage with our partners and distributors, understand local consumer needs and reinforce LG’s commitment to delivering innovation that will enhance all our customer experiences,” said Jung.

Phil’s visit aligns with LG MEA’s 2025 growth strategy, which aims for 8% growth and 8% operating profit margin, exceeding the global corporate standard of ‘777’ (7% growth, 7% operating profit, and 7 times corporate value).

LG is focusing on increasing sales of premium products, including InstaView refrigerators, WashTower washing machines, and OLED TVs, while maintaining competitive pricing for entry-level models.

Jung is driving LG’s transformation into a ‘Smart Life Solution Company’, committed to delivering differentiated value and meaningful emotional impact to customers in the MEA region. With AI-powered solutions shaping the future of business, LG MEA is also accelerating a customer-centric working culture, focusing on Customer Experience, Digital Transformation and Performance to enhance operational efficiency.

Jung’s visit will focus on strengthening collaborations with distributors to ensure efficient inventory management, sell-out-based operations and improved product availability. This initiative aims to prioritize partnership-driven growth and reinforce LG’s market presence in Kenya and the entire East African region.
